Kari Bretschger
President & CEO
Karis career in marketing and advertising spans over 25 years on both coasts- from leading advertising agencies in New York to several Fortune 500 companies in California. With extensive client and agency experience in multiple categories, she co-founded Integrated MarketingWorks in 1992 to provide clients with a complete integrated marketing communications solution with professionalism and connectivity at all stages.
Prior to starting IMW, Kari served as Marketing Manager for Beatrice Hunt/Wesson on Rosarita Mexican Foods. Beatrice recruited Kari from Mobil Chemical Co. where she launched several successful products under the Hefty and Baggies brand names. She began her career at Dancer Fitzgerald Advertising in New York City.
Kari graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. in Communications and has also completed the Stanford University Executive Management Program. When not working, Kari can be found sailboat racing or kayaking. She serves as a board member for the Southern California Childrens Chorus and Mater Dei High School Consultative Board.
Peter Bretschger
President & CMO
Peter has a broad range of marketing experience on both the client and agency side. Today he works with a broad array of companies from Schlumberger Carbon Services to Newport Beach’s very own Balboa Bay Club & Resort.
Prior to co-founding IMW, Peter served as a Management Supervisor at Saatchi & Saatchi, where he managed several hi-tech and medical accounts. He also held the position of Marketing Communications Manager for Eastman Kodak over a nine-year period, including seven years in Kodak’s International Marketing Group for Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
He is probably best known for his work with the American Management Association (AMA), one of Integrated MarketingWorks first clients. For more than 20 years, he has served as a course leader for a variety of AMA marketing management seminars to educate companies on how to maximize their marketing communications investment.
Peter graduated with a BS in international advertising/public relations from Syracuse University and is a former faculty member at the University of California at Irvine Graduate School of Management. When he’s not working, you’ll find Peter on his sailboat “Adios” racing somewhere on the Pacific Ocean. He serves as Vice Commodore for the Balboa Yacht Club.
Liz Wilkins
Vice President, Account Director
Liz has 20 years of agency and corporate PR experience in the food and nutrition, consumer products and entertainment industries.
She has developed an expertise in strategic planning and is an award-winning media relations professional capable of elevating a client's brand and messaging through targeted communications outreach. As a fluent Spanish speaker, Liz is also very experienced in communicating with the Hispanic market and relevant stakeholders.
Her previous experience includes work for brands such as: Nestle, Dannon, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Sunkist, California Avocado Commission, The Walt Disney Company, Op Surfwear and Isuzu Motors.
Carl Spady
Associate Creative Director
Carl Spady is a multifaceted Creative Director with over 25 years of experience in both in-house and agency environments. He is well versed in all aspects of conceptual thinking, creative direction, layout and design for all media.
Prior to joining IMW, Carl worked for Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, where he managed all the creative for Hoag Hospital, where he not only worked on Hoag-related materials but he also worked on Toshiba Classic and Newport Beach Breakers projects.
Kip Klappenback
Associate Creative Director
Kip Klappenback has joined IMW as the agency’s new Creative Director. With over 25 years of creative leadership and copywriting experience, Kip’s brand-building track record is both broad and deep. Equally important, his creative skills encompass virtually all media-from print, collateral and broadcast to interactive, direct and CRM.
A veteran of both small and large agencies, Kip was previously a creative catalyst at agencies that include: Doner, Frankel, Backer Spielvogel Bates, Foote Cone & Belding, Cochrane Chase and Reiser Williams deYong.
His award-winning portfolio reflects a remarkably diverse range of industries and encompasses clients in the food, automotive, packaged goods, healthcare, high-tech, fitness & sports equipment, consumer electronics, transportation, biomedical & pharmaceutical, education, non-profits and financial services fields.
Kip holds a degree in Communications from California State University, Fullerton, and is currently a member of the Program Advisory Council at the Art Institute of California—Orange County.
When not greasing the creative gears at IMW, activities like hiking, sailing, photography and editing the occasional family video typically find their way to the top of Kip’s “must-do” list.
Megan Moss
Acount Executive

As a member of account services team at IMW, Megan works closely on strategic planning and marketing campaigns for clients such as The Balboa Bay Club & Resort as well as Mercedes-Benz of Laguna Niguel and Foothill Ranch. A native Newporter, Megan comes to IMW with extensive experience in the advertising industry.
Megan earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of San Diego. When not found working at IMW, you might catch Megan traveling on some global adventure.
Marcia Gonzalez
Associate Creative Director
"The Task: My main objective is to create a vision based on the client’s needs, execute the vision and produce a successful product that sells. What fuels my fire: It’s my passion and it brings me absolute satisfaction at the end of the day. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else."
Marcie has defined many IMW key creative projects over her last ten years. Her experience with food, education, travel & leisure, healthcare and nutrition has led to a portfolio of award winning work that sells!
She is proficient in concepting, package design, web development, as well as mastering the art of brand identification. She has built brand identities for over a dozen leading companies and is well known for envisioning brands from scratch.
She has led creative development for Sunkist Growers, Avocados from Mexico, The Balboa Bay Club & Resort, Nursing Programs for Orbis Education, the US Mint’s Golden Dollar and PolicyOptions. From magazine ads to banner ads, she is expert in managing the brand essence in all media.
Her heritage has always allowed a creative freedom to roam through many cultural themes as well as market driven strategies. She is simply one of the best at what she does. When not at IMW, Marcie can be found enjoying time with her teenage son and her passion for photography.
Heather Campbell
Operations Manager
“You want it when?” I’ve been saying that for over 25 years as a creative services/production manager with 3 agencies and a decade in corporate America. Whether IMW’s working on a brochure due in Hong Kong for a client 82 years old, or a logo/identity project for a start-up company it’s still enjoyable to see a project delivered on time to a pleased client. With IMW’s talented creative and dependable vendors it’s also easy to say “No problem.”
Heather’s experience in running a good, solid creative group serves our clients well. She can motivate and organize some of the most talented people to come together and create big, new ideas that drive businesses. While understanding what clients need, Heather goes to great lengths to deliver work which exceeds their expectations yet comes in on budget and on time.
Heather has worked at diverse agencies providing a variety of value. She has been an advertising & PR manager, production manager, traffic manager as well as account manager.
An alumna of The University of South Carolina, Heather enjoys traveling and painting.
Cambria McConnell
Social Media & Public Relations Specialist

As an Account Executive at IMW, Cambria assists in the planning and execution for the APEAM, Sunkist, The Flower Fields and The Flower Market accounts.
Cambria joined the IMW team in October 2011 with a background in marketing, advertising and event planning. She worked for several years as a Marketing Consultant for PADI, a scuba diving certification company, where she developed and executed marketing campaigns and events from conception to completion.
As an alumnus of California State University Fullerton, Cambria holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with an emphasis in Entertainment. When not at IMW, Cambria can be found participating in 5 and 10k fundraisers or hanging out with her family.
Mairim Martinez
Account Supervisor
“Whether I’m drafting a press release or developing communications plans, my job is to consistently deliver results that surpass client expectations. My days are fast paced and dynamic, the perfect blend of diligence and creativity."
As an Account Manager at IMW, Mairim handles the development and execution of public relations, marketing and advertising campaigns for nutrition and produce accounts that include Sunkist Growers and Avocados from Mexico.
Mairim joined the IMW team in January of 2008 with an extensive background in the areas of public relations, marketing, advertising, sales, event planning, copywriting and community involvement.
An alumnus of California State University, Long Beach, Mairim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism with a Minor in English. She is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
Julia Meza
Account Executive
"My day at IMW is filled with an array of projects that are always challenging and unique. I have the pleasure to contribute to several of our clients as well as the IMW team. In doing so I get to exercise my Spanish skills, creativity and team work all in a rewarding and vibrant environment which is what makes my position so enjoyable!"
As the newest Account Executive to join the IMW team, Julia is currently responsible for assisting with the APEAM account and supporting the staff with other account projects as needed.
She comes to the agency with a broad range of experience in the areas of event planning, hospitality, sales, private placement securities and finance. Prior to joining IMW, Julia worked as an Executive Assistant in a financial institution where she assisted with client accounts and marketing efforts as well as managed all elements of office operations.
Julia is an alumnus of California State University, San Marcos where she earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication.
Aubrey Peeke
Account Executive
"It is my job to help make our clients’ lives a little easier and to help them with their overall success. Knowing I have done my best to achieve these goals is a good feeling at the end of each day."
As an Account Executive at IMW, Aubrey assists in the planning and execution for the APEAM, Sunkist and MovinCool marketing and advertising programs.
Aubrey joined the IMW team in April of 2010 with a background in marketing and advertising. She worked on several education accounts for an advertising agency in Kansas City.
An alumnus of the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Aubrey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Strategic Communications with a Minor in Business Administration. Strategic Communications is a degree through the University of Kansas’s journalism school, which teaches the communication and planning needed for a company’s long-term strategic goals. When not at IMW, Aubrey can be found traveling and cheering on her Jayhawks.
Deirdre Michalski
Media Relations

Deirdre specializes in Media Relations and Strategic Planning. She focuses on destination and tourism accounts - most notably The Balboa Bay Club & Resort and The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch.
Deirdre (or simply Dee) has over twenty years of experience in marketing and advertising. Working on both the agency and client side, she has worked for Doyle Dane Bernbach, Hilton Hotels, Marriott’s Western Region of hotels and resorts and InterCom, a firm specializing in real estate and resort branding.
A graduate of UCLA, this Bruin has a BA in psychology. She is a resident of Irvine, married with a son in college and loves the finer points of cooking and pairing foods with just the right wines.
